Poly-L-lactic acid

  • The product

Poly-L-lactic acid (Sculptra®) is a type of dermal filler used primarily for facial rejuvenation and the treatment of age-related volume loss. It is an injectable treatment that helps stimulate collagen production in the skin, resulting in a firmer, more youthful appearance.

Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) is a biodegradable, biocompatible substance. When injected into the skin, Sculptra® acts as a stimulant, triggering the production of new collagen. This process takes place gradually, giving a more natural result. For optimal results, two treatments 6 weeks apart are recommended, with additional treatments if necessary. Results last 2 years or more.

  • The treatment

Injections are made using a cannula and/or needle, depending on the area of the face. A topical anesthetic cream and an anesthetic injection are used for patient comfort.

No convalescence time is required. Bruising is possible, but not common. A cold compress can be applied as needed.

After treatment, it is essential that the patient massages the injected areas for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days.

  • Secondary effects

Pain, redness, bruising, edema. These side effects are generally temporary and disappear on their own within 2-6 days. Possible infection or allergic reaction to the product.

The treatment may cause small papules (bumps) of collagen on the treated area. These are generally not visible, and can only be noticed by pressing on the treated area. For this reason, it is important to massage the injected areas for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days.

  • Associated fees

    800 / 1 vial (taxes included)

These costs are non-refundable. If additional treatments are required, the corresponding costs are to be borne by the patient.
