Blepharo vs Forehead Lift

You're feeling great, but the people around you keep asking you if everything's okay? Your reflection in the mirror proves them right: tired, hollow eyes, drooping eyelids, bags under the eyes... how can you get back that sparkling look of yesteryear?

Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) and brow lift (forehead reshaping) are two surgical procedures designed to improve the appearance of the eyes and forehead. Although they both focus on rejuvenating the eyes, they differ in their objectives and techniques.

Blepharoplasty

Blepharoplasty, also known as eyelid surgery, aims to correct sagging and excess skin on the upper and/or lower eyelids. The procedure eliminates pockets of fat and tightens weakened muscles around the eyes. Blepharoplasty can reduce the tired or aged appearance of the eyelids, giving a fresher, younger look to the eyes.

The front recovers

On the other hand, the brow lift, also known as forehead lift or forehead redraping, focuses on the elevation and rejuvenation of the eyebrow and forehead. With age and gravity, the eyebrows droop, contributing to the appearance of excess skin on the upper eyelid and a tired look. The aim is to reposition sagging or drooping eyebrows, reducing (but not 100% erasing) the appearance of horizontal forehead wrinkles and sagging eyebrow skin. This procedure gives the eyes a more open and energetic appearance, creating a more youthful overall facial appearance.

Which one should I choose?

Blepharoplasty and brow lift can be performed separately or in combination, depending on the patient's needs and goals. It is essential to consult a qualified plastic surgeon to discuss the options available and choose the most appropriate procedure. Factors such as eyelid condition, brow position and the patient's individual expectations will guide the surgeon in selecting the best approach.

Dr. Haddad performs eyelid surgery and endoscopic brow lifts at his clinic in Sherbrooke, Quebec. Unlike the traditional open brow lift, endoscopic brow lift is a newer, less invasive technique that lifts drooping eyebrows using miniature cameras and specialized instruments inserted through small incisions in the scalp. This surgery involves a less invasive procedure, with smaller incisions and faster recovery.

It's important to note that these procedures are surgical and therefore involve risks and recovery times. For more information or to book a consultation with Dr. Haddad, please call us at (819) 822-3025 or visit our website: jacqueshaddad.com.
