The surgical technique
Several subtle incisions can be made to correct these deformities. The scars are located mainly around the ears with an incision in the neck at the base of the chin if necessary.
-
Recovery
Rest, raise head, avoid exertion and control pain. Wear the girdle provided. A close follow-up will be done to remove the drains. A soft diet is recommended to reduce jaw pain. Showering is allowed 24-48 hours after surgery, as soon as the dressing is removed. Stitches are removed after one week. Gradual return to activities after one week. Make-up will be used the week after surgery to camouflage the bruising which may last on average 2-3 weeks. Physical exercise after 3-4 weeks.
