Breast lift

(breast lift)

  • The breast lift technique

Several incisions are possible: periareolar, vertical and inverted T incisions. Breast lift can be combined with breast augmentation to improve breast shape and firmness, or breast reduction to reduce breast volume. Surgery is performed under general anesthesia.

  • Recovery

Remove dressing and shower 48 hours after surgery. Wearing a bra and bandages is necessary for the first week, or longer as required. Convalescence 10-14 days. Scar massage and treatment with silicone cream from 1 month after surgery.

  • Complications

Short term: bleeding and infection. Wound dehiscence, stitch rejection, necrosis of the skin, fat and, more rarely, the nipple. In the long term: reduced sensitivity of the nipple, partial descent of the breast, poor healing.

  • Preparing for surgery

Stop smoking, avoid blood thinning medication. Respect the fasting required and take care to clean the skin well with an antiseptic soap.

  • What to watch for after surgery

Significant swelling, breast asymmetry, excessive pain, redness, fever and purulent discharge.

  • Associated fees

    from $9,000 (plus taxes)

  • The redraping is desired when there is a descent in the breast. When the nipple is lower than the inframammary line, this is called ptosis or breast descent. When using breast implants, we make sure that they are centred on the breast. So if the breast is low, the implant will also be low. In order to place the implant high for a better shape or filling of the upper part of the breast, it is necessary to undergo a redraping. The lift is often done during breast augmentation surgery. In borderline cases or when patients are reluctant to undergo a lift, it can be done as a second step.
